Childcare Solicitor (locum) 3+ PQE, London, £40 - £50 per hour (DOE), hybrid. An opportunity for an experienced Childcare Solicitorto join a London-based public body to provide support to the team for 12 weeks. OVERVIEW:
• Managing and providing legal advice on cases for all clients, including local authorities, housing associations, and schools.
• Responsibilities include offering legal representation, conducting research, and advising on children’s social care matters such as public law care proceedings, child protection, adoption, fostering, and statutory duties concerning children in need and looked-after children.
• Additionally, the role includes supporting education law matters, particularly in relation to special educational needs.
• Attending meetings and court hearings, including those held outside normal working hours and off-site when required.
• Handle, organise and prioritise own significant caseload with minimal supervision and provide high quality client service and care.
• Handling complex legal work and high-profile cases.
• Assisting and providing support to junior staff members where required.
• You will be required to have strong knowledge of education matters including special educational needs.
• The appointed candidate will be undertaking advocacy where applicable
• Hybrid working available with court attendance requirements.
