St Basils – Working with young people.

Are you ready to start fundraising? We are! The staff at eNL rounded off  2013 by donating several boxes of Christmas fare, children’s toys and warm hats and gloves to St Basils.  Rebecca Barry, Director at eNL will be commencing her role as a member of St Basils fundraising committee during 2014.

St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 5000 young people per year across Birmingham, Solihull and Worcestershire. From December 2013 we will also be working in the Coventry area.

They prevent youth homelessness with a helpline, advice, a schools project and a family mediation service.

For young people who have become homeless, St Basils has a range of supported options from emergency projects that are staffed 24/7 onto varying degrees of semi-independent accommodation.

They also have designated support services which aim to help young people realise a brighter future by gaining the skills needed to move on successfully to independent living and access education, training and employment, in order to develop confidence, skills and opportunities, and ultimately stop the cycle of homelessness.
