Personal Injury firms still recruiting despite the closure of a number of claims management firms.
The annual report by the Claims Management Regulation Unit (CMRU), part of the Ministry of Justice, shows that the number of claims management firms has dropped significantly since the introduction of tougher laws. In March 2012 there were 2,435 registered companies handling personal injury claims; that number fell to 1,700 in June 2013. The government claim that new laws on no win, no fee deals that included a ban on referral fees between lawyers and claims management firms have led to this. Justice Minister Helen Grant has said "We have taken strong action to rein in the rogue firms... and the impact is starting to show…. Ending these fees which fuelled a growing compensation culture has been an important step to reducing the cost of living for ordinary people - who have ultimately been footing the bill for them through their insurance premiums”.
Despite this, the job market for personal injury solicitors remains relatively buoyant. eNL Legal have vacancies registered with a number of firms across England and Wales with positions for solicitors, legal executives and paralegals with experience in Road Traffic Accidents, Employers Liability, Industrial Disease and Fraud investigation.
