Lawyers protest outside Parliament against legal aid cuts

The Guardian has reported that hundreds of lawyers demonstrated outside parliament on Wednesday 22nd May 2013. The protesters are against the government plans to cut £220million from the annual budget for criminal legal aid and remove defendants' right to a solicitor.

Sadiq Khan a former solicitor and Labour's justice spokesman, accused the justice secretary, Chris Grayling, of destroying legal aid.
