JOB TITLE: Housing Development Solicitor

A Top 100 practice is currently seeking to recruit a self-motivated and committed newly qualified Solicitor to join their busy development team working on asset management and development. This position will see you dealing with complicated title, planning, estate management and infrastructure enquiries raised by buyers’ solicitors, managing a caseload of sensitive cases, providing on hand technical support to paralegals and transaction handlers to ensure that clients’ service deadlines for exchanges are met and maintaining and streamlining working procedures to enable a smooth delivery of service to clients. You will also be required to develop and understanding of the ethos of the Housing sector and assist in the attainment of key performance indicators and other quality standards required by the Housing clients and establishing strong relationships with the team’s clients and being the escalation point for complex matters and ensuring that the client requirements are properly implemented by the team. In order to be successful for this position you will have either recently qualified or are coming up to qualification and have some experience in property law with a desire to further your career in this area of law including support and supervision on asset management transactions such as right to buy, staircasing and shared ownership. You will have previous experience within a residential conveyancing, development, plot sales or generalist housing profession in legal or professional services and will ideally be able to demonstrate substantial experience in residential property – both leasehold and freehold, knowledge and understanding of affordable housing products, regulation and procedures, particularly in relation to shared ownership and equity (not essential); and proven experience of handling your own residential conveyancing caseload
