THE ROLE:

Our client has one of the most ambitious and rapidly growing corporate teams in any law firm in the UK.  Their corporate team in the West Midlands is ranked highly by legal publications and this role offers a well rounded Corporate Solicitor the opportunity to assist in advising clients on range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and management buys outs. The team act on behalf of an impressive client list including listed companies, private individuals and investors.  The clients come from a range of sectors meaning that the appointed Corporate Solicitor will gain invaluable experience working on a high calibre of matters and have the chance to become involved in major corporate deals taking place in a wide range of industry sectors. As part of the interview process you will be required to formulate a business plan and in effect this will be the basis of your job role for the first 12 – 18 months within the firm. The firm welcomes innovative ideas and like future candidates to be entrepreneurial in their approach and to think outside the box.  The firm currently has a number of business spin offs which has come from this.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal Corporate Solicitor will have at least ten years of post qualification experience gained in a corporate department at another leading law firm.  The Solicitor should have had experience of a full range of corporate matters and should be well versed in mergers and acquisitions, join ventures and private equity.  The Solicitor should have a strong team ethic and be prepared to become involved in business development activity.  It is highly important that the Corporate Solicitor has a commercial approach to their work and excellent technical skillsYou will either be a Senior Associate within your current firm chomping at the bit for Partnership or you will a junior Partner within a firm where you are frustrated by politics and the lack of opportunity to get decisions made quickly.  What is crucial to the role is that you are passionate about Corporate Law, full of enthusiasm, ideas and really want to work within one of the most well respected teams in the area.
