Job Description

Private Client Solicitor, Hertfordshire, 4+ PQE, £50,000–£60,000 plus extensive benefits. An established Legal 500 firm is looking to strengthen its Private Client department with the appointment of an experienced Solicitor. Offering a competitive salary of £50,000–£60,000, this position would suit a lawyer seeking greater autonomy, meaningful client relationships and the chance to contribute to the expansion of a successful regional practice. With a diverse range of matters to handle and the backing of an experienced team, this is an opportunity to broaden your experience, enhance your professional profile and establish yourself as a key member of the department. Job Ref: 5867

THE OPPORTUNITY:
You will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of private client instructions, advising individuals and families on important personal and financial matters. From initial consultations through to the conclusion of each matter, you will be expected to deliver a high standard of service and build lasting relationships with clients.
Your work is likely to encompass:

• Will drafting and succession planning
• Probate applications and estate administration
• Trust creation, administration and related advice
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Inheritance Tax considerations and estate planning strategies
• More involved private client matters requiring careful analysis and tailored solutions

Alongside managing your own files, you will have the opportunity to strengthen existing client connections, develop referral relationships and contribute ideas to support the department's future development. This role is aimed at a qualified Solicitor with at least four years' post-qualification experience and a solid grounding in private client law. You should be comfortable handling matters with a degree of independence, managing competing deadlines and explaining legal issues in a way that clients can readily understand. Sensitivity, sound judgement and attention to detail will be particularly important when dealing with personal and potentially complex circumstances.

The ideal solicitor will also bring:

• A thorough understanding of private client procedures and relevant legislation
• The confidence to manage client matters from instruction to completion
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to exceptional client service
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and workload management
• An interest in developing specialist knowledge and contributing to business growth

THE FIRM:
Joining this Legal 500-ranked practice means becoming part of a firm recognised for its legal expertise and commitment to client service. Its collaborative culture provides an environment in which experienced lawyers can share knowledge, develop professionally and build their standing within the local market.
As the Private Client team continues to grow, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution rather than simply maintain an existing caseload. For someone keen to take greater ownership of their work and play a part in shaping a department's future, this could be a particularly attractive move.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
• A salary of £50,000–£60,000, depending on experience
• An accompanying benefits package
• A supportive and collegiate working environment
• Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career advancement
• Scope to cultivate a personal client following and contribute to departmental growth
