Job Description
Head of Non-Contentious Construction | Partner | Midlands | Established Following Essential
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Non-Contentious Construction Partner to lead and develop a construction practice within a highly regarded law firm.
This is a strategic appointment for an established construction lawyer with a strong following, excellent market connections and the vision to build a successful team. The firm is looking for a commercially minded individual who can bring an established client base, generate new business and play a key role in the future growth of the practice.
The Role
You will take the lead in developing the non-contentious construction offering, with the opportunity to shape the department's strategy, strengthen its market presence and build a team around you.
Your responsibilities will include:
Advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters, including major development and infrastructure projects.
Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT, NEC and other standard forms.
Advising on development agreements, building contracts, professional appointments and associated project documentation.
Working with developers, contractors, housebuilders, investors, funders and commercial property clients.
Developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients and key professional referrers.
Generating new instructions through your established following and market connections.
Leading, mentoring and recruiting lawyers to support the growth of the team.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across real estate, planning, corporate and other complementary practice areas.
The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from established Non-Contentious Construction Partners or senior construction lawyers with a demonstrable track record of developing a successful practice.
An established following and strong connections within the market are essential. You will have the commercial acumen, leadership skills and entrepreneurial approach required to generate work, develop client relationships and build a thriving team.
You will also have strong technical expertise, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice on complex construction matters.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Non-Contentious Construction Partner looking for more than simply a change of firm. You will have the opportunity to lead a practice, develop a team and influence the strategic direction of the department, with genuine scope to grow your offering and strengthen your position in the market.
For the right individual, this represents an exciting platform to build on an established following and create a successful construction practice with long-term potential.
If you are a Non-Contentious Construction Partner with a following and are considering your next strategic move, I would welcome a confidential discussion.
