As part of an exciting period of growth, the firm is looking to attract an experienced Private Client lawyer who is keen to progress their career within a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team.

The Opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3–5 years' PQE to join a successful and expanding Private Client department.
You will take responsibility for your own portfolio of matters, providing high-quality advice to a diverse client base while playing an active role in the ongoing development of the department. This is a full-time, office-based role in Devon.

Key Duties:
In this position, you will:
• Handle a varied caseload of Private Client matters from instruction through to completion.
• Provide clear, commercially aware and practical legal advice tailored to individual client needs.
• Prepare and advise on Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Deal with the administration of Estates and Trusts.
• Assist clients with Inheritance Tax planning and related matters.
• Develop long-term relationships with clients, intermediaries and professional contacts.
• Take ownership of your workload while maintaining high standards of service and attention to detail.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SRA requirements and the firm's policies and procedures.
• Keep case management systems and client records accurate and up to date.
• Take responsibility for the financial management and billing of matters.
• Identify and contribute to business development and networking opportunities.
• Work effectively with colleagues across the wider firm.
• Keep up to date with developments in Private Client law and continue to build your professional expertise.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and client-centred team environment.

About You:
The successful candidate will have qualities such as:
• 3–5 years' PQE gained within Private Client law.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Strong communication, client care and relationship-building skills.
• Good IT literacy and confidence using legal technology.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
• Desirable Experience
• STEP qualification.
• SFE accreditation.
• Previous experience with legal case management software.
• Full UK driving licence.
