Job Description

Principal Associate | Commercial IT & Outsourcing | 12-Month FTC | West Midlands | Hybrid Working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior commercial solicitor to join a leading Commercial IT & Outsourcing team on a fixed-term contract of up to 12 months. Based in the West Midlands, this role offers exposure to high-profile, strategically significant projects across both the private and public sectors.

The team is recognised for its strength in complex commercial contracting, technology, outsourcing and data-driven projects. It operates with its own client base and growth strategy, delivering a diverse mix of large-scale transformational projects and day-to-day commercial advisory work for mid-sized and major organisations across sectors including technology, financial services, real estate, retail, life sciences, manufacturing and the public sector.

The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of commercial contracts, including IT outsourcing, SaaS arrangements, logistics agreements, facilities management outsourcing, ERP procurements, supply chain contracts and joint venture arrangements. The role requires someone capable of stepping into live matters, providing clear and commercially focused advice, and managing negotiations with confidence.

Applicants should be qualified solicitors with a minimum of six years’ PQE and strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. You will be technically strong, pragmatic in approach and comfortable working with minimal supervision. Experience supervising junior lawyers and contributing to a collaborative team environment will be important.

This position would suit an adaptable and commercially minded lawyer who can quickly integrate into a busy team and make an immediate impact.

The firm offers a hybrid working model, an excellent benefits package including private medical insurance, enhanced pension contributions and generous leave entitlement, as well as a strong culture focused on professional development and long-term career support.
