Job Description

Court of Protection Solicitor, 2+ Years PQE, West Midlands, £50,000+ (DOE) - My client is seeking a dedicated Court of Protection Solicitor with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience to join their esteemed team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, focusing on applications for the appointment of Deputies for Property & Financial Affairs, Health & Welfare Deputies, replacement Trustees, Deputies and Attorneys for Gifting, and Statutory Wills. JOB REF:9121.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection applications, including:
  o Appointment of Deputies for Property & Financial Affairs
  o Appointment of Deputies for Health & Welfare
  o Replacement of Trustees
  o Applications for Deputies and Attorneys for Gifting
  o Applications for Statutory Wills
• Provide expert legal advice to clients, their families, and carers on a range of Court of Protection matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, such as applications, court bundles, and correspondence, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Advocate for clients in hearings, representing their best interests in Court of Protection proceedings.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive client support.
• Contribute to the growth of the Court of Protection department, including mentoring junior staff and engaging in business development efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• A minimum of 2 years' PQE in Court of Protection or related fields.
• Experience in handling applications for Deputies, Trustees, Gifting, and Statutory Wills.
• Excellent advocacy skills with the confidence to represent clients effectively in court.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable clients.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
